Hints of romantic splendor with a splendid day turning into an even greater evening are all embodied here. The simplicity on the left half is truly unusual for me in this as normally I strive for some type of unity in the whole composition, yet the result thrills me beyond comprehension here ! Oil paint on a stark black canvas can make a painting glow like the sunrise from the initial brushstroke and color choice, no matter what that choice is practically. Once again a hint of stained glass is implied in the top left corner to bring out the sheer intensity of this cosmic black against the wine bottles and suggestions of the fruit. Directness is contrasted with the jewel like mixture of colors and in person the precise shades of red are truly hypnotic . Please take your time and I suggest a neutral color for this as it has such a range of both brilliant and subtle color combinations that anything too strong would destroy the unity that I strove for. A word about framing or matting my work as years ago a collector purchased a huge oil pastel of mine. She invited me over to see it and I was aghast and flabbergasted as she spent a small fortune on a gorgeous Baroque carved frame ....but to my dismay selected 4 NEON colored mats ! I will pay taxes and shipping in the US and how this will enhance your living room or dining room ????I can only imagine. Oil on canvas 2025
