For decades I have drawn in botanical gardens, wild mountain areas in Colorado, the jungles in both Mexico and Belize with a increasing appreciation for nature's spectacles .While my work has often dealt with the formal language of abstraction ,in this series of 5 mixed media works I decided to orchestrate a symphony of the two. There is something intensely pleasurable about bringing light out on a black sheet of paper. Courbet said it was akin to the manner in which the sun brings joy into the light and I totally agree.! Each work has a truly unique individualistic quality yet if they were to hang in a grouping with the order of your choosing I am certain that they would provide years of untold pleasures just as if we were in the wilds now. I used heavyweight terrific mixed media heavyweight acid free paper. The size of each is 18" by 24 " and the media used is acrylic which is lightfast too. I personally frame mine with UV glass and have sprayed each one with the finest Archival UV Fixative .As a precaution I never hang mine in direct sunlight either. THE COLOR COMBINATIONS ARE MAGICAL HERE AND SOMEHOW IN EACH ONE I DID NOT STOP WORKING UNTIL THEY LEFT ME IN A TROPICAL DREAM STATE, Enjoy !so join the adventure with me please.
